Tip of the Month

Did you know that Simple Ledger provides a comprehensive depreciation calculator. It provides the ability to maintain all your depreciable assets requirements within Simple Ledger and provides a depreciation schedule together with the ability to post depreciation journals to the selected ledger.

Users also have the ability to select either the Tax Depreciation or Accounting Depreciation rate for Simple Ledger to use in the calculation of the Deprecation Schedule.

Simple Ledger users need to input the Tax, Accounting and/or Private Use depreciation rate(s) % and select a depreciation method in the Chart of Accounts Add/Edit screen. Simple Ledger will then use these rates together with the selected depreciation method to calculate the depreciation schedule which can then be previewed or printed. The depreciation schedule provides for the following ATO depreciation methods: Prime Cost, Diminishing Value , Motor Vehicle Prime Cost, Motor Vehicle Diminishing Value, Low Value Pool, General STS Pool and Long-Life STS Pool.
