Director IDs and the future of CAS Desktop

As you would be aware, the recent introduction of Director IDs means Australian company directors are required to identify themselves with the ABRS via MyGovID before 30 November 2022. To help manage and streamline the administration of these new requirements for ASIC Registered Agents, BGL released a suite of Director ID features in CAS 360. 

However, BGL has made the decision not to support Director IDs in CAS Desktop, and therefore CAS Desktop will become non-compliant in the near future. BGL will continue to support CAS Desktop clients. No date has been set for the cessation of software support, as it will take a while for all clients to move to CAS 360.

The Director ID alert will show CAS 360 users the company directors that have completed their Director’s ID.

Director ID Screen

The Director ID screen provides CAS 360 users with the ability to:

  • Send customisable emails and reminders to all company directors about the new Director ID requirements and deadlines.
  • View which company directors have not completed their Director ID requirements.
  • See if a contact is a director in multiple companies.
  • Add a director’s email address, and ID number (once the director has completed registration).

What data is transferred from CAS to CAS 360 as part of the migration?

All company data is migrated across. This includes company details, member and officer details, all member and officer history.

All company documents will also be migrated. These documents can be viewed from CAS 360’s Documents Screen.

What information will not be migrated from CAS Desktop to CAS 360?

Edge Username and Password; custom created templates for minutes and resolutions; default settings that don’t exist in CAS 360; the ASIC Service Address and Letter Address.

Do I have to migrate all my CAS Desktop data at once?

Yes, but don’t worry! Our dedicated Client Success team is here to help you seamlessly migrate ALL your valuable historical data and documents from CAS Desktop to CAS 360 without losing ANY of your valuable data.

What will happen to my fees already paid for CAS Desktop?

When purchasing CAS 360, you will purchase the company level you require for a full 12 month subscription. We will then pro-rata rebate your CAS Desktop Subscription Renewal fees already paid.

How do I access CAS 360?

CAS 360 is a cloud-based solution – This means that you do not need to download anything – the software is accessible from an Internet Browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge etc. The links to the login pages can be bookmarked in your Internet Browser, and you can also create a shortcut to login from your desktop computer.
