Simple Invest Version 6.0 (26/08/2008) is currently available on our web site. To download the latest update, please log in to the BGL Client Centre. 

Clients who have not updated to 6.0 previously, please note the following Important Information :
- Simple Invest is required to be run from the server with a user account with administration rights to the server
- You can not run this update from a workstation connected to the serve
- You can not install this update with a limited user account if you are running a standalone (single user non networked PC)
- Nexus strongly recommends that you setup the database files on the same local drive where the database is to be installed

Simple Invest team is currently working on the new features list for the next major update. The update is scheduled for late January 2009 and we invite all our clients to come forward with their suggestions and recommendation until the end of November. We would like to discuss your ideas and suggestions and to share the future development direction with you.

The BGL product teams have commenced developing a number of additional modules that would fully integrate with Simple Invest and all other BGL products.
BGL Query module will empower Simple Invest users to query the database and it will provide query output in a default format or in a format customised by the end user.
We are also working on BGL Portal that would be enabling our subscribers to streamline on-line communication with their own clients.
The third module is BGL Report Writer that will capacitate all users of any of the BGL products to create, modify and produce all reports in a user customised format.

All the modules are being developed based on your requests and feedback over the last few years. The aim is to provide products and services that would improve efficiency in your practices leading to creating greater value for your business.


Tip of the Month

Did you know that CGT Optimiser you can recalculate your client's overall CGT position automatically.

To optimise a register's CGT Transactions click the Optimise button in the Asses Reports screen. Simple Invest will then calculate the most tax effective disposal method for all disposal entries that can be switched between discounted gain or indexed methods. The Method column will change to ensure current year capital losses and prior year capital losses are applied to indexed and other capital gains resulting in the lowest overall capital gain position for the register.
 
Simple Invest users can also manually change the disposal methods for selected disposal transactions. The Method column will be shaded where the choice between methods is valid. Simply click the shaded box and change the disposal method and Simple Invest will update the Total Capital Gain/(Loss) amount at the foot of the optimiser screen.

At the end, Simple Invest will prompt you with a confirmation message asking whether you wish to post updated investment disposal entries to the ledger.
