BGL has announced the opening of its beta program for BGL Firm Verify, a new cloud-based platform designed to help businesses including accounting firms manage Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) obligations ahead of the deadline.
From 1 July 2026, Australia’s AML/CTF Tranche 2 reforms will introduce new compliance obligations for thousands of businesses including accounting firms, representing one of the most significant regulatory changes in nearly two decades.
With the BGL Firm Verify BETA now available, selected firms will gain early access to start building their compliance frameworks ahead of the 1 July 2026 deadline.
“Tranche 2 is a major shift for accounting firms and many are still working through their obligations and how to implement them” said Daniel Tramontana, Chief Executive Officer at BGL. “Our focus is on helping firms get ahead early. With the BGL Firm Verify BETA, firms can start building their compliance frameworks now and be ready well before the 1 July 2026 deadline.”
BGL Firm Verify is purpose-built for accounting firms and designed to simplify AML/CTF and CDD compliance by bringing together onboarding, identity verification, risk assessment, ongoing monitoring and reporting in a single platform.
Initial capabilities available in beta include:
- AUSTRAC enrolment and registration support
- AML/CTF Program builder for documenting policies, procedures and controls
- Firm risk assessment tools aligned to regulatory obligations
- BGL AML/CTF online training
Additional capabilities will be released progressively throughout 2026 as part of the broader BGL Firm Verify roadmap.
BGL Firm Verify builds on BGL’s existing identity verification capabilities in BGLiD, delivering a more comprehensive platform for firm-wide AML/CTF and CDD compliance.
Existing BGL clients will benefit from seamless transition with BGL Firm Verify designed to integrate with the BGL Suite, including CAS 360, Simple Fund 360 and Simple Invest 360.
BGL is inviting accounting firms to register their interest in the BETA program to gain early access to BGL Firm Verify. Firms participating in the BETA will have the opportunity to explore key features, begin building their compliance workflows and provide feedback to help shape the future of the product.
