BGL is proud to announce the appointment of James Luo, Head of Data and AI to our Executive Team.
As Head of Data and AI, James has been instrumental in driving BGL’s data and artificial intelligence strategy across its award-winning product suite, including CAS 360, Simple Fund 360, Simple Invest 360, BGL SmartDocs 360 and BGLiD.

The BGL Executive Team is responsible for delivering on the strategic and operational priorities needed to achieve sustained growth across all facets of the business. With a strong focus on development, the team aims to retain, educate and grow BGL’s people, clients, partners and the industries in which it operates.
James Luo, an AWS-certified Solutions Architect with a Master of Science in Software Technology, has over 17 years of experience leading cloud innovation at BGL. Joining as a Delphi developer in 2008, he pioneered BGL’s shift to web-based solutions and drove the launch of Simple Fund 360, now Australia’s leading SMSF administration software. Known for his “design for failure” approach, James champions resilient systems and data-driven insights, helping make BGL more innovative and competitive.
Under James’s leadership, the Data and AI team works closely with BGL’s Product, Ecosystem, Client Experience and Internal Product teams, ensuring innovation remains at the core of BGL’s software and client experience.
